Where to photograph in California – Yahoo Groups (Calphoto) has a new report for Joshua Tree National Park
Just returned yesterday from Joshua Tree NP. Many cactus in buds, some starting to bloom, especially the in the cholla garden and by Cottonwood Springs. Beavertail cactus with pink flowers and another cactus with red flowers can be seen in Hidden Valley on the 1-mile loop trail as well as behind Split Rock. Other individual cactus plants were spotted randomly. I saw a variety of flowers on the road from the South Visitors Center to Cottonwood Springs. Also, there are a variety of little flowers on the Split Rock trail. I saw a beautiful little plant of Desert BlueBells (aka Desert Canterbury Bells). Octotillo were blooming in their designated area.Many blooms on the Joshua Trees. Many are starting to fade, some at peak, and still some almost at peak.
