Anza-Borrego Wildflowers 3/7/16

Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association just sent out an email wildflower update

The next two to three weeks will likely provide the best opportunities this season for viewing annual wildflowers in the Borrego Springs Valley.  The popular flower viewing areas along Henderson Canyon Road and at the end of Di Giorgio Road – Coyote Canyon are in bloom right now and rain over the past couple of days, although light, will pump some life into the plants that have germinated in these areas.  Desert Lilies continue to go strong as well.  The area on the west side of Borrego Springs Road ( about 2 miles south of Christmas Circle) has a nice bloom of Ocotillo going on right now.  This area also provides some very nice photo opportunities with desert mountains in the background. Temperatures should return to the 70’s and 80’s over the next couple of days and that’s another plus for flowers.
