Anza-Borrego Wildflower Update 2/13/16

I contacted several people at Anza-Borrego today to see what they think the wildflower bloom might be like this year as well as checking weather predictions. Here is a summary of what I found. There are reports of good germination in the area Hellhole canyon up to Palm Canyon and along the Henderson Canyon Rd. and into Coyote canyon. Plants are small and annual bloom may be late this year.  Although there was rain earlier in the season it is drying out as it has not rained in Feb. and no rain is predicted over the next 15 days. Also they are expecting a hot spell this week. As always it is hard to predict wildflower bloom. Best guess is either flowering later sometime in March or things drying up with little flowering.
