Asheville NC Fall Foliage Color Leaf Report 2015 reports
Today we drove to Cashiers via Sylva and returned via US Highway 64. See photos from these trips on our Fall Color Reports. Upcoming in the next week, the best color will be in the 3,000-4,000 foot elevation areas (looking really good in the Linville Gorge and along US Highway 64 near Cashiers). Color is past peak at highest elevations above 4,500 feet. However, the views into the valley will be colorful since they are still mostly green. The early October rain and clouds dampened the colors a bit, but they are rebounding now. The next 1-2 weeks will see the best color over the largest areas of the mountains. Wonderful fall weather all week.
