San Juan National Forest Fall Color 10/15/15

San Juan National Forest reports on  10/15/15

Estimated Percentage of Current Fall Foliage:
Durango to Purgatory – a bit past peak, still good pockets
Molas Pass – a bit past peak, still good pockets
Silverton/Red Mtn Pass – past peak
Pagosa – a bit past peak, still good pockets
Dolores to Lizard Head Pass – 80% in the river valley
Mancos/La Platas – a bit past peak, still good pockets
San Jun Skyway- a bit past peak, still good pockets

Areas with Greatest Amount of Color / Recommended Viewing Areas:
Ridgeway/Dallas Divide/Telluride
Buckles Lake south of Pagosa

Estimated Peak Viewing Period:
Not much left but still some good pockets of color

Viewing Suggestions / Tips:
Telluride and north still good for a bit more.
Cottonwoods in the river valleys getting good.

Trees That Are Currently Turning Color:
Cottonwoods, oak and service berry.
