San Juan National Forest reports on  9/21/15

Estimated Percentage of Current Fall Foliage:
Durango to Purgatory – 5%
Molas Pass – 5%
Silverton/Red Mountain Pass – 75%
Pagosa – 5%
Dolores to Lizard Head Pass – 25%
Mancos/La Platas – 15%

Above 10,500 feet – 65%

Areas with Greatest Amount of Color / Recommended Viewing Areas:Silverton, Red Mountain Pass

Estimated Peak Viewing Period: Elevation above 10,500 feet.
Getting better quickly this week.

Viewing Suggestions / Tips: Treeline aspens best so far.

Trees That Are Currently Turning Color:  Aspens and a bit of the oak.
