Native California Pigeon Is In Trouble

Bay Nature reported on the decline of California’s Native Band-tailed Pigeon. They reported that it has declined

 “about 2 percent a year since 1968, when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service began tracking the population in its annual Breeding Bird Survey.”

Population loss is linked to habitat loss and disease.
