Anza-Borrego Desert Wildflower Update1/27/15

Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association reports on January 27

desert lilies are beginning to bloom along Henderson Canyon Road, mostly between S-22 and Borrego Valley Road.  He says that only a few are in bloom now but that this area looks very promising for wide spread bloom of lilies in a few weeks or so.

Also… Rain this week increases the chance that this will be the best flower year out of the past several. We have had several reports that there is a lot of plant germination in the Borrego Valley.  Plants are just beginning to be seen poking through the ground.  That bodes well for flowers in another few weeks.

This is great news. NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association) is holding their Summit meeting in San Diego on Feb. 19-22, and many attendees would probably like to do some photography at Anza Borrego before or after the convention. If any of your readers are interested, here is more info on the NANPA Summit: http://www.naturephotographysummit.com/
