I recently wondered what happened with the person who vandalized National Parks with her  graffiti? I found at least a partial answer in Modern Hiker. They reported

law enforcement officials who had worked on similar cases and they assured me there was no reason to worry. They said in general, if all the evidence is there and everything works perfectly, a case like this can still take a minimum of three months  to wrap up – and that’s not accounting for the addition of lawyers that can significantly add to that timeline.
