Zion Fall Color 10/26/14

Rocky Mountain Nature Photographers has the following fall color report for Zion for 10/25-26

Explored the east side / Checkerboard Mesa region. Bushes along dry stream and iconic Cottonwoods seem just past peak – the Cottonwoods are yellow and if you work an angle they look great, but I have seen better. Some vibrant red Bigtooth Maples east of the short tunnel though you might have to do a short hike to find them. Light greens around the lower areas of the Virgin River Canyon. Second hand reports of the Virgin River canyon suggest not much color through Big Bend – but could be great next weekend. I get the sense that this may be a late season.
