San Juan National Forest Fall Color 9/12/14

San Juan National Forest has its first fall color report of the season

Estimated Percentage of Current Fall Foliage:
Durango – 0% 
Molas Pass – 0%
Silverton/Red Mountain Pass – 15% aspens
Pagosa – 0
Dolores/Rico – 0
Mancos – 0%

Areas with Greatest Amount of Color / Recommended Viewing Areas:
Nothing really going yet.  Just a bit reported from the north aspects around Silverton.

Maybe next week.

Estimated Peak Viewing Period:
High country maybe the weekend of the 20th.

The majority of areas should be the week after.

Viewing Suggestions / Tips:
Wait a bit, then 4WD in Silverton and the alpine loop. Lake City to Creede.
