Coffee farms could benefit birds while lowering pests | Conservation

Conservation reports on how if coffee farms can have a mutually beneficial relationship with birds. Trees create good bird habitat, but shade reduces coffee crop yield. However if a coffee farm has 5% tree cover, it can create a mutually beneficial relationship. The trees will create bird habitat. The birds will consume beetles that are harmful to the coffee crop offsetting the decreased yield caused by the shade of trees.
