Natural History Wanderings

Here is yet another wildflower report for Seguin, TX area. This one from Wildflower Haven

1. There are some nice spots north of Seguin and Luling, but they are tough to find. I did find a nice bluebonnet field just north of Luling on 80, but the best view of it is on a side street – Austin St.

2. My plan was to scout areas north of Seguin and Luling until after lunch. Then head south to Stockdale-Nixon are and Wilson County. Then the storms came. I spent most of the afternoon running south to get away from the storms. By the time it passed ?I did not have much light left in the day.

3. I did find some nice spots. FM-1681 from 123 to Nixon is still doing well with bluebonnets but they are thinning out. Paintbrush is actually filling in more than a week ago. Phlox, and verbena in many areas as well. FM-3335 east from 123 has lots of color along the roadside and some in fields.
