The Calphoto site had the following reports for Table Mt.
3/27/14 Went to Table Mountain near Oroville last Monday. It was a nice day, a fair amount of flowers, & more to come. The rain the last couple of days won’t hurt. There’s a group of 7 on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17178767@N05/
3/22/14 The area wasn’t too wet, but there was plenty of water for some of the waterfalls. Although the “peak bloom” will probably be in about two weeks (particularly after the upcoming rains), there were plenty of flowers. You have to wander into different areas, each seemed to have its own collection.
See my photos at https://www.flickr.com/photos/charlierussell/sets/72157642829128685/ – most are handheld and on a windy day.
I found white tipped clover, cowbag clover, glassy hyacinth, several different lupines, biscuit root, caterpillar phacelia, red maids, seep-spring and kellogg’s monkeyflower, purple owls clover (larger than I’m used to, and in several locations), larkspur (in a difficult to reach area by the falls), meadowfoam (just starting), sierra mock stonecrop, padre’s shooting star, marigold navarretia, variable-leaved jewel flower, volcanic onion, foothill and frying pans poppies, johnny tuck, birds eye gilia, douglas’ violet, western buttercup, popcorn flower, dark-stained pretty face, goldfields, yellow carpet, bitterroot, and blue dicks.
The lupines were interesting. In some areas they were abundant, in others they weren’t opened up yet. In some exposed areas they were already going to seed. And, if you looked carefully, some of the streams had California newts.
3/21/14 Many of the species are in full bloom and the lupine are having a great showing! If I had to guess, I’d say that peak bloom isn’t too far off. Some of the species we saw include varied leaved jewel flower, goldfields, sky lupine, bitterroot, red maids, meadow foam, purple owl’s clover, tufted and frying pans poppies, bird’s eye gilia, and blue dicks.
