Oldest Flamingo Dies At Age 83

The BBC reported that the world’s oldest flamingo has died. It was 83 years old and in the Adelaide Zoo in Australia.  It was a Greater Flamingo Phoenicopterus roses, which typically have much short life spans in the wild. It had been at the zoo since 1933 and put to sleep due to complications from old age and arthritis. Read more at BBC News – ‘World’s oldest flamingo’ dies in Australian zoo at 83.
