Today we decided to take advantage of the King Tide at the Emeryville Shoreline. We saw 30 species of birds. Most plentiful were the scaup (some were Greater but most were too far out to tell for sure if they were Greater or Lesser Scaup), Bufflehead, and Ruddy Duck out on the bay and the Marbled Godwits and Willets on the rocky shoreline along the road east of the police and fire stations. There were a number of Horned Grebe on the bay and Aechmophorus Grebes (most were too far out to tell if they were Western or Clark’s Grebes).
