Chattahoochee-Oconee Fall Color 10/29/13

Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest  has an October 29, 2013 fall color update.

Peak color is still good in the upper elevations as the wave of peak color continues to develop down the mountains.

This week will likely be your best chance to see good fall color in the mountains of north Georgia. While many people may believe the color this year is less than average, much of it depends on the location. Local weather conditions and tree species are key factors that can vary widely from place to place. So don\’t short change your fall color outing this week.

The weather forecast looks good for Tuesday and Wednesday, but there\’s a small chance of rain on Thursday that gradually increases through the day. Rain is likely Thursday night and during the day on Friday. Keep an eye on the weather Friday afternoon as the skies could start to clear by then. The good news is that Saturday and Sunday will be beautiful fall days to catch the fall color as we slip into November.
