Great to be reminded there are still areas to enjoy, if only we would get away from the metropolis surviving, at least on weekends.

Wonderful shots, especially your elk. At which parks are they most predominant up there?

Prairie Creek Redwood Park has an elk viewing area. However, they were not there the days we went by this trip (in the past they have been). We saw them several times right along highway 101 and always at the RV park on the east side of the road south of the park. We also saw elk at the beach by the Fern Canyon Parking lot.

Ha ha. I wonder if any elks were cited for being in the parks during the shutdown (which I hope is finally over). That big polypore was the dyer’s polypore, I believe. I saw one on Tam last week too.

Thanks for the id help. I don’t know if the Elk were sneaking into Redwood National Park, But I did see birds flying over Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Hope they weren’t cited or worse shot down for trespassing.
