Superior National Forest Fall Color 9/2913

Superior National Forest  new report on fall color for 9/29/13:

What a difference a few days make!  We are fast approaching peak colors, and some areas are probably there already. Many trees are fully changed, but there is a lot of variation in a forest the size of Connecticut.  Overall, we are around 50% with some areas, mostly near the Superior shore down at only 10% and many inland areas at 75% or more.  Sunday and Monday should be some of the best of the fall!  Try the Superior NF National Scenic Byway from Silver Bay to Hoyt Lakes for some wonderful yellow aspen and a good cross section of the forest.
