Colors Peaking on the Green Mountain Finger Lakes!

Green Mountain National Forest reports

Colors Peaking on the Green Mountain Finger Lakes!

The Green Mountain is situated in Rutland, Vermont while the Finger Lakes is nestled in Hector, New York. Leaves in both the Green and Finger Lakes are showing brilliant shades of red, yellow, orange, and pink. Cooler nights and shorter days are helping increase the color in higher elevations. Parts of the Forests are expected to be at peak this weekend.

Interested in a scenic drive? In Vermont, check out the Molly Stark Bywaythrough the Green Mountains, the Mad River Byway, or Rt. 125-Middlebury Gap Scenic Highway. In New York, plan a drive through the Seneca Lake Scenic Byway.

For the hikers… try the North Country Trailin New York or Vermont’s section of the Appalachian Trail.
