The LA Times reports there have been over thirty sightings of Blue-footed Bobbies, most of them juveniles, in Southern California. It is not known for sure why they are showing up but is speculated that the birds, may have come north in search of prey fish.

They apparently also arrive at the Marin County beaches too (north of San Francisco). I wish i had seen them!!!

Interesting. I just returned from Galapagos and saw lots of them there, but never expected to see them in Southern California where I live.
