Birding Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary

Yesterday East Bay Birding Yahoo Group  reported there were many shorebirds at high tide at Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary.  The sanctuary is at the end of Crown Beach in the city of Alameda. That became a destination for a short birding trip today.

As reported there were again many shore birds. Most plentiful were dowitchers, terns,  peeps, Black-bellied Plovers and Double Crested Cormorants. The highlight was watching Cormorants herding  fish with terns one Brown Pelican diving down and egrets following along from the shoreline. You can see my list from today at Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary Birdlist.
