National Geographic reported researchers believe elephants may use movements and gestures to communicate. Actions such as curl of a truck, stepping backward and folding an ear may be ways they communicate to each other.
The researchers are also study acoustic sounds elephant use to communicate such as interpreting the different rumbling, roaring, screaming, trumpeting, and other idiosyncratic sounds that elephants make in concert with postures such as the positioning and flapping of their ears.
