Dogwood Bloom At Yosemite

calphoto : Message: Fabulous dogwood bloom in Tuolumne Grove  has the following report for Yosemite Dogwoods.

If you missed the dogwood bloom in Yosemite valley, there’s still fabulous trees in bloom in the Tuolumne Grove of Sequoias. The parking lot for the walk to the grove is just past Crane Flat heading east on 120. It’s a two mile round trip walk 600 feet down (in) and up (out) to the grove on a paved road.

We were at Yosemite a week ago, and the dogwoods were spectacular at the north entrance road; same general area as the Tuolumne Grove. The valley floor was still blooming, as well.
At Hetch Hetchy, the Sierra Newts were out in force, after some thunderstorms dampened the area.
Along the Merced River, between the town of Mariposa & the El Portal entrance to Yosemite, the butterflies are migrating. We counted 13 different species. Amazing!
