Calphoto has the following report for Calaveras Big Trees  for May 3rd:

The Dogwood bloom is starting with the upper blooms that are in the sun. The lower blooms are a week or two away. Lots of blooms now but it will probably get even better in a week or two. The best day to go on is a day with overcast weather and light rain. Calaveras Big Trees is located in Arnold 24 miles east of Angels Camp on Highway 4.
