Great Smoky Mountains Wildflower Update 4/29/13

 Great Smoky Mountains Association has the following wildflower report for April 29th, 2013:

Laurel Falls – (B to Little Greenbrier) – Dogwood, Yellow Trillium, Squaw Root, Wild Oats, Plantain Leaf Pussytoe, Birdfoot Violet, Star Grass, Sweet Shrub, Common Blue Violet, Common Cinquefoil, Trailing Arbutus, Halberd Leaf Violet, Wild Strawberry, Creamy  Yellow Violet, Solomon’s Seal, Toothwort, Stonecrop, Frazer Magnolia, Sweet White Violet, Dog Hobble, Bleeding Heart (1 plant), Rue Anemone, Wood Anemone, Star Chickweed, Large Flowered Trillium, Large Flowering Bellwort, Trillium Erect, Canadian Violet, Jack-n-pulpit (3), Yellow Mandarin, Hooked Buttercup, Squirrel Corn, Blue Cohosh, Doll Eyes and Early Meadow Rue.

Little Greenbrier – (B-E) – Star Chickweed,  Common Blue Violet, Wild Oats, Stonecrop, Blue Cohosh, Solomon’s Seal, Yellow Mandarin, Crested Dwarf Iris, Dogwood, Squaw Root, Rue Anemone, Large Flowered Trillium, Trillium Erect, Wild Geranium, Early Meadow Rue, Sweet White Violet, Purple Phacelia, Star Grass, Birdfoot Violet, Plantain Leaf Pussytoe, Carolina Vetch, Lousewort (Just started blooming), Yellow Trillium, Spotted Mandarin and Flame Azalea.   Note:   A few Pink Lady Slippers budded – none blooming.
