Wildflowers At Big Bear

Carol Leigh mentioned  on the Calphoto  forum an article on Wildflowers at Big Bear, which is better known as a ski area in San Bernardino County. You can read the article at: Who needs snow? Wildflowers are blooming at Big Bear – Southwest Riverside County News | Riverside, CA Local News.

The Big Bear region has more than 20 endemic wildflowers . You can visit the  Baldwin Lake Ecological Reserve where there are guided wildflower hikes led by a botanist and volunteers of the Southern California Mountains Foundation. The free interpretive hikes are at 11:30 a.m. each Saturday now through June 29. The best time to visit for flowers is April and early June.

The Big Bear area is actually in the San Bernardino Mountains of San Bernardino County, not Riverside County
