Hungry Valley Wildflower Update 4/11/13

Hungry Valley posted a new wildflower report today

A golden sheen covers Hungry Valley, as the Bladderpod, Fiddlenecks and Goldenbush are fully in bloom now. Profusions of Baby Blue Eyes and creamy Tidy Tips decorate the hillsides along Stipa trail, joined by the pretty blues and violets of the Lupine shrubs, while new pink stalks of Yucca are pushing up through the spiny plants all around the park, especially near the Oak Grove. Colorful bursts of Poppies are scattered on the hillsides and increasing daily, but look for them to be at their height around mid to late May. Along the designated Wildflower Areas and Natural Grasslands, wildflower populations are swelling, but you will enjoy some of the prettiest displays along Powerline Road where Indian Paintbrush, Coreopsis and Poppies increase daily and are intensified by the backdrop of the magnificent mountain and canyon views.
