Guernsey UK Purple Sandpiper Population Down To Just One

The BBC reported on the sharp decline of wading birds in Guernsey. The biggest cause in the drop in wading bird population is believed to be due to the beaches becoming popular dog walking spots. The species most affected is the Purple Sandpiper,whose population has dropped 99%. Twenty years ago there were 100 birds but in 2013 there was just one.
