Today I went to the UC Botanical Garden (Berkeley,CA) to see what flowers had started to bloom. I spent just about the whole time in the California Natives section. Species in bloom included Wild Currant, California Poppies, Ceanothus, Manzanita, Silk Tassel, and Pipevine. Although I focused mainly on flowers today, I did hear or see bird activity including Stellar’s Jay, American Robin, Bushtit, Anna’s Hummingbird, Scrub Jay, Crow, Hutton’s Vireo and Chestnut-backed Chickadee.
