Plumas County Wildflower Reports 7/3/12

The Plumas County Bloom Blog had  wildflower bloom reports:

The following were from Joe Willis (blackoaknaturalist.blogspot.com)

Quincy elevation, late summer flowers are already blooming in early summer.

top of Mount Hough,  lots of Leichtlin’s Mariposa Lily in the meadows between Chinca Grade and the Lookout. Also lots of Pennyroyal, Showy Penstemon, and Mountain Pride (Penstemon)

Oakland Camp: Hooker’s Primrose, Gum Plant, Diamond Clarkia, Leopard Lilies ( where Berry Creek emerges from under the railroad tracks a half mile before Oakland Camp), Indian Hemp, Chicory, Fireweed, Water Plantain, Pine Drops, Prince’s Plume and Self-heal.

I recommend checking out our high elevation meadows for another taste of Spring. Places like Brady’s Camp, Mt. Hough, and, of course, the Lakes Basin and Bucks Lake and Wilderness.

Also Jeff Titcomb reported or photographed on the drive up to Canyon Dam  few dogwood flowers and a few Snow Plants; lupines Leopard Lilies Paintbrushes, Deer Brush, Spirea and Yarrow.
