Joe Willis, the Black Oak Naturalist posted a new wildflower bloom update for Oakland Camp in Plumas County.
Currently in bloom are Showy Phlox Phlox speciosa, Arrowleaf Balsamroot Balsamorhiza sagittata, (Now whole hillsides are covered with it), the Mules Ears(are leaking out, but not yet blooming), Buckbrush Ceanothus cuneatus, several species of Cinquefoil, Potentilla spp., Serviceberry Amelanchier utahensis, and False Solomon’s Seal Maianthemum racemosa, (beginning to bloom, but most plants still have many buds). Not yet in bloom but coming soon Mountain Ladyslipper, Cypripedium montanum, Striped Corralroot, Corallorhiza striata, and Showy Milkweed, Asclepias speciosa.
