Update- The Bloom Blog Will Return
Valler Nellor (see comment below) reports that the “Bloom Blog” and “Awesome Autumn” will be back. “We just got our contract signed today and will be updating the site asap.” We will keep you posted when they return.
I had not been finding any updates for the Plumas County “Bloom Blog” this year. On further investigation I discovered that the Visitors Bureau and Visitors Center that published it had closed. They also the publishers of the Plumas County “Awesome Autumn” fall foliage site. I found the following posting on the website:
Well ..visitors…. its been a rough ride these past few years, and we are so sad to report that we’ve been forced to close down Visitors Bureau and Visitor Center operations as this month due to lack of funding!Whether this proves to be temporary or more permanent, time will tell. The Visitors Bureau has been in operation for decades, and in fact, just missed celebrating its 80th anniversary, which would have been in February 7, 2012.
Fortunately Naturalist/Joe Willis Joe Willis who publishes the Black Oak Naturalist blog and was probably the top contributor to the Plumas Visitor’s Center blogs is still publishing Plumas county updates.

As you read this, efforts are under way to bring the plumascounty.org website back up with full updates including the “Bloom Blog.” The “Tourism, Recreation and Hospitality Council” has been formed to ensure that the website, Plumascounty.org continues operating and providing visitors with the information they need. Please check back to plumascounty.org for updates.
