The Bishop Field Office, Bureau of Land Management, California published the following wildflower bloom update on March 27, 2012
In the southern part of the Owens Valley several plants have begun to bloom but no great swathes of color to report as of now. Around the Bishop area the vegetation is still pretty brown. Small amounts of green are beginning to show but nothing much yet. Overall, due to the dry winter wildflower displays might not be that great but if you’re in the right place at the right time you should still be able to find good, localized displays.
