Henry Coe State Park has just published a new wildflower report (2/27/12) on the current wildflower bloom. Currently in bloom are Common Fiddleneck, Blue Dicks, Clasping Henbit, Scarlet Pimpernel, Bigberry Manzanita, Milkmaids, Miners Lettice,Western Hound’s Tongue, Lowland Shooting Star, Woodland Shooting Star, Red-stemmed Filaree, California Poppy, Pacific Pea, White Baby Blue-eyes, Oso Berry, Indian Warrior, Popcorn Flower, California Buttercup, Hillside Gooseberry, Fushia-flowered Gooseberry, Common Checkerbloom, Purple Sand Spurry, Common Chickweed, Persian Speedwell, Hill Suncup, Golden Violet, Oak Violet, and Johnny-Jump-Up. Natural History Wanderings 
From my latest visits to the park, I did not see much near the main park HQ. I heard there were flowers like Indian Warrior, Johnny Jump-ups, Hounds tongue, and others around or on the Middle Ridge and Hobbs Road. Although it has been almost 3 weeks since I was there, I saw more flowers out of Hunting Hollow in the southern end of the park, and especially on the trails climbing up to Steer Ridge. I would think the new Jim Donnally Trail would be a good trail to hike up as it isn’t as steep and I saw flowers there. But I saw blue dicks, lots of Lowland Shooting Star, Johnny Jump-ups, Checkerbloom, and more, either on top of Steer Ridge or hiking the Redfern Trail up and the Jim Donnally Trail down. So far this is not a great year and it may end up largely being a bust but I would expect more stuff will still bloom.

I was at Henry Coe last week and saw very few if any wildflowers, so am wondering where all the flowers they list were?

The update at the Coe website was not dated but seemed to be new as it included flowers that were not on it a few days ago.
