Spring Birds and Flowers
I went to the Regional Parks Botanic Garden (Berkeley, CA) in Tilden Park today to photograph flowers. I also heard and saw lots of bird activity as well. Flowers in bloom included two species of Fritillary, including the rare Adobe Lily, normally seen at Bear Valley,California Poppies, Candy Flower, Hound’s Tongue, Redwood Violets, Fawn Lilies, Trillium, Shooting Stars, Star Zigadene, Wall Flowers, California Poppies, Pipevine, lot of Ribes, Ceanothus, Allium, Osoberry and Manzanitas . Birds I was able to identify were Stellar’s Jay, California Towhee, Black Phoebe, Spotted Towhee, Scrub Jay, Song Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco and I am guessing a Lesser Goldfinch.
