The LA Times reported that an Assembly bill has been proposed that would make the endangered Pacific Leatherback Sea Turtle the official California State Marine Reptile. The bill would also declare Oct. 15 Western Pacific Leatherback Sea Turtle Conservation Day and encourage schools to teach about the turtles. And the state is billions of dollars in debt, unemployment is still at 10%, companies are leaving the state due to the high tax burden and unfriendly business environment, and all our incompetent legislators can do is spend time on this. Whatever.
