Updated 2/5/12 with link to Bob Stokstad’s photos
Today the Birding by Ear class went to Hidden Lakes Park in Martinez, CA. It is a 16 acre city park yet over 150 bird species have been seen here. Today we managed to get 49 species. It is also site of a former bordello. The highlights for today were a White-throated Sparrow, Hooded Mergansers, and an Orange-crowned Warbler. We also had good views of Red-shouldered Hawks both perched and flying overhead and a White-tailed Kite hovering and flying overhead.
