Early Winter At UC Botanical Garden

Updated 12/18/11

Today I went to the UC Botanical Garden (Berkeley,CA). As I suspected most of the leaves were off the trees by now, however leaves on the ground can also make interesting subjects to photograph.  Other things of interest were grasses, cactus, flowers and ferns. The Bay Area’s mild Mediterranean climate means we always have something in bloom. Not only are there winter blooms in the Botanical Garden, the Douglas Iris in our yard started blooming about a week ago.

I have put together a short slideshow  on Flickr using  large high quality photos I took of fall color at the UC Botanical Garden on 11/28/11. For best viewing click the full screen icon at the bottom left of the Flickr Page  http://www.flickr.com/photos/sandysteinman/sets/72157628446301649/show/

Here are today’s photos
