Nature News recently reported that two researchers have proved that accusations of plagiarism by Darwin are unfounded. Although few historians believed that Darwin had plagiarized Alfred Wallace, there were a few vocal supporters of Wallace who claimed Darwin copied his ideas.  The researchers studied shipping records and mail delivery. They found that the letter that Darwin received from Wallace that is the basis of the claim of plagiarism was received too late to have been the source of Darwin’s theory.
