Today was birding the along the Bay Trail in the Eastshore State Park between Point Isabel and Shimada Peace Park. There were many shorebirds. Even though it was low tide the birds seem pretty close. Birds I was able to identify included Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Great Blue Heron, White-crowned Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, Black-bellied Plover, Dowitcher sp., American Wigeon, America Coot, Whimbrel, Marbled Godwit, Willet, Black Turnstone, Long-billed Curlew, Western Sandpiper, Turkey Vulture, Yellow-rumped Warbler, White-tailed Kite, Killdeer, American Avocet, Least Sandpiper, American Crow, Canada Goose, Mallard, and Spotted Sandpiper. There were even a few native flowers in bloom: California Poppy, Sticky Monkeyflower and Gumplant.
