Fewer Deer Killed By Cars

For the third year in a row the number of deer killed by cars in the US has dropped.

  • Is it due to smarter deer behavior?
  • Are drivers more aware?
  • Are people driving less?

We don’t know really know why.

October and November are peak deer migration time. This is when the most vehicle-deer accidents happen.  Be careful if you are in deer country.  That could be anywhere.  I recently saw three deer crossing a busy street in North Berkeley one block from a shopping district.
