Vermont

Fall Foliage: Peacham at WCAX reports ” fall foliage season is in full bloom in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont”

New York

Fall foliage at its peak in localized areas of the state in the Utica Observer-Dispatch reports fall foliage is peaking in Esserx, Herkmimer and Franklin counties.

West Virginia

When it comes to fall leaf viewing, the higher the hill, the bigger the thrill in the Cumberland Times News reports

“this is the weekend to head to the Mountain State’s high country for vibrant visions.

Higher elevations of Grant and Mineral counties range from 50 to 75 percent peak color. Foresters report good color in most locations, including reds, rusts and yellows near Mount Storm in Grant County. Sumac is showing bright red and maples are colorful in Mineral County. Lower elevations of Grant and Mineral counties are showing little color right now.

Lofty elevations of Tucker County and the areas around Spruce Knob, Cheat Mountain and Kennison Mountain are peaking, but likely will have faded a week from now.

Recommended drives in Tucker County include state Route 32 through Canaan Valley and along U.S. Route 219. U.S. Route 250 from Huttonsville to Durbin is the recommended route for viewing Cheat Mountain. Drive state Route 55 from Richwood to Kennison Mountain where foresters report excellent coloration along Cherry River.”

Washington

Sally’s Blog reports “If you’re visiting Mt. Rainier anxious to see the fall colors – take note – there’s only a hint of fall presently.”

Iowa

Autumn leaves set to explode with color in Iowa in the DesMoinesRegister.com reports that Iowa is expecting a good fall color season that will see peak in about a week.

Minnesota

Peak week ahead for autumn colors  in Chanhassen Villager reports fall color is expected to peak in Minnesota this week.

Pennsylvania

Foliage Expert: La Nina May Dampen Fall Leaf Colors in Gant Daily reports that fall color will be limited  due to the wet, warm weather. Peak is normally mid October but that won’t happen it the warm temperature continues.

Rainy weather to impact colors of autumn leaves by WFMZ Allentown reports the rainy weather pattern will cause some trees to drop leaves early such as  ash, cherry and walnut trees. Oaks and hickories should have good color as they are considered stronger trees.  It is predicted that “southeastern Pennsylvania will have a longer, slower season. The Poconos … will be shorter, but brighter.”
