I often get questions and comments about my photos of flowers. I recently have read two articles I would like to share by photographers who have influenced my flower photography.
The first is on macro photography by Tony Sweet and includes tips like getting closer, photographing in the shade, and gear suggestions. It is in the NY Times: Macro Photography 101: Extreme Close-Ups
The second is the importance of backgrounds in close-up photography by Rob Sheppard. It discussed the how to work with less depth of field to put the emphasis on your subject. It is on his Nature and Photography blog: The Power of Less
