Green Energy Threatens Antelope Valley

Green Energy Projects Would Significantly Alter Antelope Valley With Tall Wind Turbines and Large Solar Panel Projects

Although the Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve  property is not threatened with development, many of the areas around it are. Two solar projects have already been approved by Los Angeles County and eight more renewable energy projects have been proposed. If you have ever visited the poppy preserve you are probably familiar with how its strong wind and sun. The powerful  and consistent winds and sun make the area very desirable for wind turbines and solar panels projects. Elements Power USA wants to develop 4000 acres of private land that is next to the poppy preserve with  50 wind turbines that are almost 500 feet tall and solar panels. Next Era is proposing building 90 wind turbines in the northwestern region of Antelope Valley.

Residents are concerned about changes in the landscape, loss of views, and potential negative impact on home values.
