The Department of Fish and Game report that the Bald Eagle and Peregrine Falcon populations in Butte County. Both birds follow waterfowl populations. However, while the Peregrines are avid hunters and will even take birds in flight the Eagles are rather lazy and prefer to feed on injured or dead birds. Eagles are also take the catches of other birds such as Osprey.
