I visited the California native plants section a the UC Botanical Garden (Berkeley,CA) today. Ceanothus have started to bloom in mass, Pipevine plants are full of flowers, and there are still many Manzanitas in bloom. I also saw a Douglas Iris, my first Shooting Star of the season, California Poppies, a Wooly-fruited Lomatium, Giant Trillium were starting to open, native Lavatera and Coast Silk-tassel full of showy catkins. Here are some photos from today.
