Grizzly bears are in trouble and there is no easy Solution
Grizzly bears in the Yellowstone region are facing an increasingly pessimistic future. Grizzly deaths are up and this could be the worst year on record. The bear population continues to increase and some of its food sources have decreased. Bears are increasingly seeking human neighborhoods and livestock as food sources. The results are inevitable human-bear confrontations. Bears are going after pet food, going into campgrounds and challenging hunters for their kills. There have been two human killings and increased maulings by bears. “Problem” grizzlies have been euthanized in larger numbers.
