Joint Military and Entomologist Operation Attacks Bee Killer

Source of honeybee colony collapse found

A joint effort by military scientists and University of Montana entomologists have identified a fungus and virus that has killed honeybees.  More research needs to be done to find exactly how the virus-fungus team kill the bees.  This is major progress in dealing with the sharp decline of the honeybees (20 to 40 percent decline since 2006), who are important pollinators for the agriculture industry.  To read more go to the New York Times article:  Scientists and Soldiers Solve a Bee Mystery
