California Fall Foliage Suggestions for this Weekend

Fall Color in California has several new reports covering a good part of the Eastern Sierra.  Louis Hart wrote:  “Just got back from a quick trip over to Hope Valley on Hwy 88. The area around Sorensen’s Resort is incredible at this time. Absolute peak. It’s the best I’ve seen in several years.”  George Habata has a detailed report  that says Lundy Canyon, June Lake Loop, and Lake Mary are particularly good. The Sacramento Bee has a Best Bets for fall leaf color, Oct. 22-24 article that mentions  Hope Valley, Lundy Canyon, and Conway Summit as top foliage spots as well as a reports on many other areas of the Sierra.

Michael Frye just posted a Yosemite Valley Color Report that says “The autumn color in the valley is improving every day, but it’s still not quite there yet”  Go to his post for more details.

Awesome Autumn in Plumas County reports that except for the oaks, color is starting to peak.
